Our goal is to ensure that Institute for Therapeutic Massage (ITM) graduates exceed the expectations of the massage, bodywork, and wellness community as competent, qualified, and ethical professionals.
Our philosophy of education is to utilize a combination of academic study and hands-on techniques to incorporate late breaking research, and thus offer the students at our massage school, with 5 locations in New Jersey, a learning environment to obtain the highest level of knowledge and skill to work safely and effectively with the public-at-large.

Our core program is a 620-hour, NJ State approved massage therapy course that is offered at all six school locations. Day and night time schedules are available to provide the greatest amount of flexibility to learn massage while meeting the needs of our students. Our massage therapy program meets the requirements of New Jersey's certification standards, and provides the student with the knowledge needed to take the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

The 800-hour Massage and Personal Training Program contains 390 hours of classroom teaching at our New Jersey massage school, plus 410 hours of supervised, hands-on gym & massage time. It was developed to accommodate the growing need for qualified health and wellness professionals. This program is also suitable for those who are adding skills to their current profession as health care workers in nursing, massage or other health-related fields.

The Oncology Massage Certification Program (OMCP) was developed to accommodate the growing need for qualified health & wellness professionals interested in performing medical massage on patients who currently have, or are a survivor of cancer. It is a 750-hour, NJ State approved massage therapy course. It is also the first COMTA accredited program of its kind in the United States. It meets the requirements of New Jersey's certification standards, and provides the student with the knowledge needed to take the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Our personal training program includes some wonderful courses that can be taken on an individual basis for continuing education credits. These classes include, but are not limited to, exercise science, community first aid and safety, children, adolescence and exercise, exercise and the older adult, etc. These courses are also part of the COMTA accredited Massage Therapy & Personal Training Program. ITM, as an approved NCBTMB Category A continuing education provider, offers over 30 courses for Certified Massage Therapists seeking to continue their professional development at our massage school. There are classes available for individuals who are not massage therapists, but want to learn massage, or are interested in a specific field. ITM is also approved by the New Jersey Department of Education, and our instructors are highly qualified professionals with many years of experience behind them.
