Career-Focused Massage Therapy Training Programs in New Jersey
Massage Therapy has become the most widely used complementary care modality in the United States.
Whether you’re just starting out, ready to make a career change, or perhaps looking for a second source of income, if you’re a creative, compassionate person interested in holistic healing and helping others, becoming a professional massage therapist could be an excellent opportunity.
Becoming a Qualified Massage Therapist
The Massage & Bodywork Studies Program from Institute for Therapeutic Massage (ITM), blends art and science to provide the hands-on training, clinical experience and industry support it takes to pursue a rewarding career in holistic massage therapy.
ITM grads aren’t locked in to a rigid “massage routine” like some schools teach. In this environment you’re encouraged to be creative and to assess each person individually. Every massage you give will be different, based on the individual you’re treating.
Courses are led by experienced massage professionals, so students get the practical, up-to-date skills it takes to succeed. In addition to basic Swedish Massage and Myofasical Release, one of the stand-out features of this program is the emphasis on medical massage, including Modified Swedish Massage for Cancer Survivors.
Medical Massage is one of the fastest growing fields in the industry, and an important feature of the ITM program. ITM is the only school in New Jersey to have multiple hospital affiliations.
We don’t use “cookie cutter” lesson plans. As an ITM student you have the opportunity to customize your curriculum to fit your interests. Our five core programs include:
State & National Certification
The Massage & Bodywork Program (MBW) not only meets the requirements of New Jersey’s licensing standards, but also exceeds many state requirements, while reflecting the most current techniques and research. Completion of the MBW program will give graduates 650 of the 750 hours required to sit for the Board Certification (BCTMB) from the NCBTMB. The additional required 100 hours can be obtained through Continuing Education Courses of your choosing.
Choose from convenient Day or Evening classes. Our Classes run just 2-3 days per week, with some additional weekend classes, so you can balance your training with family, work and other responsibilities.
